Moon River

I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's last night for the first time. I haven't seen a lot of the classics, and I thought perhaps I should start.

My housband came home just after it started, and he began demanding, "What is it ABOUT?" Again and again. I didn't know. So he fell asleep.

I actually kind of liked it. I like that old movies and modern movies have random parts that don't have much to do with the plot. Singin' in the Rain, for example, has some pretty random tangents. Not that I don't like them, but some of it is random, nonetheless. [Singin' in the Rain is one of my very favorite movies.]

I think Audrey Hepburn is gorgeous. Granted, I've always thought she was. However, I thought she was sometimes charming, sometimes quirky, but sometimes a little annoying. I guess that makes for a good character--people are like that, too.

I like the truth of her character, Holly Golightly. We're all just trying to figure out this world, what it holds for us and how we can fit ourselves into it. It's all so confusing sometimes, and the world can be such a beautiful but bewildering place--that's what I got from it all.

Anyway. I liked it. Now it's Thursday. I'm going home.
